I'm having trouble finding good images of layered hairstyles.


I am getting my hair cut on friday, it's quite long now, past my shoulders. I want it cut shorter and have a few layers added. I want some layers to frame my face and also my side fringe blended in with the layers.

How do you manage medium length layered hair style?

I just a layered hair style a couple of months ago, and now it looks awful...


It looked great on the first two days, but since I had no idea how to manage it, (ex: comb, trim, etc.), I just brushed it like I normally did, it just didn't get me the same look.


What am I supposed to do to maintain the look?

you need product. try redken products or bed head. also blow drying is usually a good idea to maintain the style.no pic so I can't really tell what kind of hair you have. also you ca try glass by reken it makes the hair super shiny. OKay, for me that is easy, tell the stylist that you want to keep the length that you already have, but wou also want layers....Describe what kind of layers you want. Like do you want layers that are barely noticble bc they are that long, and do not have that much differecne in there lenghths, or do you want layer that eveyone can tell are there??? it is up to you, but give a really good, and very vivid mental pic of what you want when you are describing the style...good luck, and you do not need to have bangs when you have layers....i do, but they are the real long ones, so i sweep them to the side of my face, which i love...But like i said, it is your style that you want..

i know it takes a lot of styling to get this kind of look but its also all about the cut, i mean all the victorias secret models have it.



i want to go get my hair cut soon, right now its just long, maybe one layer toward the bottom and side bangs that have long grown out. its kind of outdated. my hair is in REALLY good condition, its naturally a beautiful caramel-honey light brown (not bragging but its my best asset. anyways its never been dyed but has natural sun highlights, its never been chemically tampered w/, never dyed. i dont even blow dry it or straighten it. its smooth, and thick. what should i ask my hairdresser to do? please dont say to bring a picture, that never works. what kind of cut? should they use razor or scissors, which works better to do what? what kind of layers would create this VS runway look? what kind of fringe?How to get victorias secret hair, sexy wavy long layered hair styling tips PLEASE HELP?
First of all they ALL wear extentions. Second they have their hair pro done for every event and photoshoot. If you have very long hair add a few layers at the bottom and nothing more. the bangs should be about cheekbone to chin length. after that its all to do with volumizing spray, velcro rollers(watch the behind the scenes footage of runway shows on youtube), curling irons and precurled clip in real human hair extensions. Believe me Alessandra is my absolute favorite model EVER. I'm sving my money to but extentions even now. The best thing you can do is take the pictures to your stylist and say I want this haircut and can you please show me how to stlye it this way. I agree with the person above me. Ask for layers with the shortest one being chin-length in the front, and longer ones in the back. You don't need a fringe for the cut. Make sure they use scissors or shears, otherwise you're cut will end up more like Hayley William's. I'm guesing most VS supermodels already have some sort of natural wave, but it is possible to get straight hair like that with hot rollers.



The best idea would be to bring a picture, though.

EDIT: I think you'd need soft, medium to long length layers. Have them use scissors. A razor will give you a more choppy, edgy look. Opposite of what you want. I donn't think you really need a bang. Discribe what you want to the lady/man and just incase, bring a picture just so they really get an idea. I know, I know, but still, they could be imagining a totally different thing!

i have natural brown hair, but i usually tend to dye it a dark burgundy red that looks verys good on me.

condition it every day, use heat protection cream and blow dry it to keep frizz down. when it's wet be gental when you comb it or it will snag and since there are layers it shows more and will look like a big frizz ball.How do you manage medium length layered hair style?
Well i HAD the same problem, I just use leave in conditioner. It helps your ';natural beuaty'; It works really well!!!

Im getting my haircut in a few days. My hair is currently about an inch above my eyebrow, all pretty flat (no particular style to it, looks like an ordinary boy cut). What it means when the hair is layed, is the all the hair is not the same length, like your hair is now. The under layer will be the longest, and progressively get shorter. It won't be obvious, but blend in well. Yes you will probably want your hair dresser to do this. Also ask her if the layered look will look good for the messy style you want. I'm sure that she will know what she is doing, also bring in a picture of what you want, this will help the hair dresser know exactly what you want.

Alright, I have thick sholder length layered hair. I can't get bangs because they will get really curly. My moms hair is beyond curly. Anways, i really want to curl my hair. I doesn't work that well when i try to use a curling iron, i dont really know how to use it and curls DID NOT work. I usaulay straighten my hair or use a headband. Have you thought about hot rollers? You can comb a hair product made for curly styles (I would suggest a curl cream) through wet hair, and then blow dry. Then you can set your hair with the hot rollers and leave them in there until they cool. Take them out, and use a wide tooth comb (a pick would probably be best) and gently run it through your hair to break up the curls and when you get a shape you like, spray it with a finishing spray. A girl in my cosmetology class had hair similar to what you described and it looked really cute on her. ^_^Shoulder Length Layered Hair Style Suggestions???

Okay, with long hair you want a lot of layers not just five. I would recomend face-framing layers which your stylist will know about. The front layers simply form around your face but if you have a rounder face your layers in front will just need to be a little longer so you don't resemble a pumpkin:p So you would get layers on each side of your face and about 5-8 in back so that you can use styling wax to ';puff'; it up in back to give it a lot of volume. What looks great with layers are side bangs that swoop to the side. I attatched a picture! Hope this helps!Help with layers hair styles??
Maybe in the back of your hair get 3 to 4 sets of layers , it looks cute ! If you want to you can get layers in the front to that would also be cute ... just dont get side bangs unless you are already use to them . You can straighten and curl your hair to give yourself some new hairstyles and most importantly it makes you have less hair which makes it easier to handle . You wont have all that weight on your hair than you did when you had no layers at all .

We all want what we don't have and any style will require more work as you will later see in life the ones with the best hair are those who leave it alone I'm now 40 and still have not learned my lesson so if your young break the trend now and remember layers grow out slow and don't all lay in a tie, band, etc.

check out Eva Mendez's haircut in the movie Hitch. That's the haircut I have and I LOVE it. There's tons of layers and you can make it feminine or edgy depending on your mood.
