Have a question about short curly hairstyle...?

My hair is thick and touches my shoulders. my question is, to get some of these hairstyles, are there any curlers I could use?

I'm mostly asking about the curlers that you sleep in. My hair is thick and naturally has a little bit of a wave.

I'm horrible with a curling iron, and because my hair is so thick I have to do so many small pieces and it takes forever.

had a great suggestion that I like about the curlers, but it doesn't recommend a certain kind. Has anyone used any of them out there?

I think the easiest to use and to sleep in are the sponge rollers. You can get them at Walmart or at any drugstores, and they come in 3 different sizes to accommodate the length of your hair and/or the tightness of curl that you want. There are also other options like the benders, or even rag curls, if you want to experiment a bit.

Short curly hairstyle?

I have pretty short, extremely curly hair. And it's african american (i'm half black) hair so it's really thick. my hair texture and length is much like the girl in this picture http://tinypic.com/r/30kc1z5/6

BUT i need help finding a new way to wear my hair. I mean, I typically wear it down because it's cute and unique but I stylize it by doing a side part and twisting or braiding what would be my bangs. Straightened my hair goes to about my shoulders. But my hair is SO hard to straighten (it doesnt straighten with a normal plug in flat iron) and I dont have the money to get it done all the time considering my hair is so stubborn and doesnt stay straight for long. I also really don't want to perm it. I'd like to leave it curly. I just need some new ways to style it other than just as is.

do it short in the back and long in the front that works for curly ans atraight hair my hairstylest told mee that so i think that sounds rite and for the frizz use oil prodects and if you do get the haircut it is super easy to straighted so you can straighten it any time you want
the shorter you cut your hair, the frizzier it gets...if your hair isn't that frizy it could workk...

I have naturally straight hair and have had it cut in a ';bob'; style for quite a while. I recently let it grow out some for a wedding that I was in but now I can't decide what to do with it. I love that it fits in a ponytail because I'm in nursing and the ponytail is just great, so quick, easy, and not near as hot as having my hair down all the time. I've had a perm in the past but my hair was fairly long then. It is about shoulder length right now and I was just wondering if anybody had any ideas for short-medium curly styles that are cute and easy to style. I think an inverted bob is always cute. You would still be able to put it back in a ponytail when you wanted but when you wore it down it would be easy to style and a bit more stunning then just a plain bob.

I just cut my hair into a medium, almost short, bob. I'm thinking about either (a) getting a perm or (b) just getting a curls style done to it for my upcoming birthday for a night out on the town. My hair is currently shoulder length. I wanted to go for something shorter. I have very thin black curly hair. It has no volume. But it's not uber curly though. But curly hair is just difficult to manager at times.

It depends on what you would like to do :)

1. You can cut your hair shorter and get a permanent perm.

2. You can keep your hair length and still get a permanent perm.

The last option is that you hair ';waver'; it's similar to a hair curler or a hair straightener.

Be sure to use hair protection before using it, then you put all your front hair up and start waving the back of your hair, then you always take a bit of the hair out of the bun and wave it until your finished with all of it. Finish off with some shiny hairspray and it will look perfect!

Use scrunching moose and gel and finish off with a hairspray. I saw this girl the other day her hair was short and curly but she put hairspray sparkles in it...i thought it was very well done so that is another idea you can use :)

yeah, that was kinda dumb not to help...lol.

neways i just use aussie curl srcunch spray if you want that wet crunchy look. but if not just wash your hair at night and then srcunch with spray and sleep on it. in the morning it wont have a wet look but it'll be curly. if some parts aren't totally curly then wrap those pieces around a curling iron and add some smoothing cream. my hair is really thick so it usually lasts a couple days. well good luck :)
u can use hair gels wid wet look and just crunch it with hand..... and then blow dry it.... u can get ur curls back or use small rollers every nite...... next day ull get ur cute curls back...these r d easy home remedies

I straightened my bangs so much there straight:/ but the rest of my hair is still MASSIVELY curly...hairstyle?

Rule # 1 curly hair ALWAYS looks better parted on the side!

Rule #2 If you can help it NEVER use gel always Mousse!

Tip#1 If you brush your hair out before putting on mousse it with a wide hard brisle brush, your curls will look more defined.

I love doing a flip bun and pulling just enough hair out from the top, to make you look like you have your hair done for prom.

If you do half up half down, I do a big poof at the top Get a big section twist it push it only a little forward and pin.

Sometimes with my hair if I don't want it super curly, I'll take a shower at night and part and slick back my hair into a low flip bun, I don't use mousse for this I just like an anti frizz serum or light gel(If I have to) then in the morning when you take it out it almost looks like a 50's moviestar look with that subtle wave you have.

Curly blond hair looks great on any blond but you have to be sure that the curls are even from top to bottom, be careful not to have it straight from the roots and then curly at the ends... I'm 15, so I'm a similar age to you, and I think that the Julia Roberts style is a tad outdated,

I would perhaps go along the lines of something a bit more modern, but still stay big and curly, (as ';big'; is really in at the moment!) maybe try something a little like Sarah Jessica Parker? A centre parting is also very in fashion at the moment, like hers.

Hi everyone. I need a few thousand (Im very indecisive) pics of hairstyles showing off short AND curly hair. My hair is pitch black (Im Italian) and fairly course but not really really thick. Its curly but not kinky and the curl is from a perm I had about 5 months ago with quite a good amount of natural wave before the perm. My face is round but not really fat. The cut HAS to be short enough to show off the tattoo on the back of my neck otherwise its totally useless to me as thats the whole reason for going shorter. I have brown eyes and do have an eyebrow and nose piercing if that helps at all. Well for one try using Mane N' Tail Horse Shampoo. I use it all the

time and it makes your hair grow faster. I;d say massage it into

your scalp b/c thats going to help the roots if you just put it on

the ends, it not going to do anything to it. You can find it at

walmart in the pet section. also you should drink plenty of water

to condition your hair and when shampooing and conditioning you should

use cold or luke warm water on your hair so it won't damage it.

Even hot water hurts your hair.

So i've been straightening my hair for at least a month now.. and I HATE it! Too much work..

The problem is I got my hair cut to a short length, about chin length, because it looked nice with straightened hair..

Now i'm giving up on straight hair and going back to my natural curly hair.

What kind of hair styles can I get that will actually work? I'm 14, I have medium curly hair that doesn't frizz, and it's a medium brown. I used to have VERY long hair, below my shoulders. It actually looked great, but I decided I needed change and ended up donating it =P

I have chin length hair as well. I don't wear it curly because I don't feel like styling it while curly. But you can always scrunch it, or tease it out a bit to get big, voluminous hair if that's what you're going for. My English teacher did it for Halloween, it looked great. You can also try straightened side bangs with curly hair, that's what a lot of girls at my school do. hi...it depends on how long your hair is and what type of dress you'll be wearing. also what time would the wedding be and what the motif is...

if you're dress has sleeves or off shoulder or free-flowing, it would look really nice if your hair is permed at the ends only -- say 3-5 inches from the ends

if its sleeveless or haltered or fit, your hair will look gorgeous if its in a french twist and the ends are all curled up.

My cousin is a dark skinned African American girl. Both of her parents have kinky hair and are also very dark. She came out with really, really stick straight off black/dark brown hair. Her mom won't let her cut it, so now it's down to her waist. yes she could perm it or curled with some large bone or spiral rollers using setting lotion but this could take a very long time to dry. sense the hair is so ling. she could try some moose as well. she has to be creative with it trist it as well. spong rollers will always work but she must use end papers with them as not to take the hair out. wrap end paper around the rollers first before rolling the hair.

curly hair will probably look really cute on you! i have the exact same kind of hair as you and curly always looks great on me (thats how i'm wearing it for my high school graduation this month). If you want a style that makes you look taller you can always wear shoes have a bit of a heel, but that might be a little much, considering that you're only in eighth grade. try vertical stripes (like pinstriped pants) they'll make you look a little taller.

To get curls/waves:

What you'll need:

Mousse

Blow-dryer

Round brush

Hair Curler (1 1/2';)

Plastic rollers (2';)

Hairspray

What to do:

Wash your hair

Put mousse in your hair

Blow-dry your hair until it is damp. Turn your head upside down and brush through your hair w/ the round brush, following it w/ the blow-dryer until your hair is completely dry.

I would just suggest sleeping with braids. First put mouse in your hair then braid your hair then spray it with hairspray then sleep on it. In the morning spray it again then take it out.

I have the same problem. My hair used to be super curly but I straighten it so much that it stays straight. The only way I can get it back to being super curly is to use a curl shampoo and curl serum that I apply after I am done washing and conditioning. Marc Anthony products are great!

- Read the book and visit the sites below about curly hair. I did and my once horrible curly hair is now virtually frizz-free ringlets. Now I get compliments on my hair all the time! Straighten your hair- be happy for a day, learn to manage your curly hair- be happy for life! It also takes way les time to wear your hair curly.

- To style your hair using the curly-girl method you will need gel, a leave in cream, and conditioner at the minimum. Some less useful, but still nice stuff would be a blowdryer, a diffuser (reduces frizz in curly/wavy hair when used with dryer), and a microfiber hair turban (to dry wet hair while sleeping or in the morning).

-The main philosophy of the curly-girl method is to not use shampoo. This may sound unhygenic but it has actually made my hair less oily and dandruffy. Most shampoos contain some of the same chemicals found in laundry detergent (aka sodium laureth sulfate or anything close to that). They dry out curly hair. Also you shouldn't brush your curly hair dry because it damages the hair and makes it poof.

- Massaging of the scalp with conditioner to remove dirt is all that is needed. It will clean everything but super clingy silicones (cyclopentasiloxane and dimethicone are examples). Then rinse and spread conditioner on the outside layer of hair and the hair at the nape of your neck. Gently comb tangles out with your fingers or a wide toothed comb and rinse with cold/cool water.

- Do not brush/comb your hair after this point because it wil disturb the curl pattern (make sure you already have a part). It is also important to use gel on sopping wet hair and scrunch the hair with your fingers. Make sure gel is distributed everywhere in your hair. If you use too much you can always scrunch out the crunchy texture later.

- Use paper towels or an old t-shirt to gently scrunch some of the water out (generic towels can make hair frizz). Then let your hair air dry or wait ten minutes and then use a blowdryer with a diffuser. Do not touch the hair while it is air drying or it will frizz!

- Use a moisturizing conditioner, such as Desert Essence Organics Italian Red Grape Conditioner (found at health food/organic stores). The combo of products that I use daily is L'Oreal Out of Bed Weightless Texturizer (comes in a black-colored tub) and then Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Gel but there are more conditioners, gels, etc. on the websites.

- ';Strictly Curls'; is a book about curly updos and such. Curly hair looks good long with LONG layers. I like to sweep hair back with 2 crisscrossed bobby pins after parting my hair to the side. I also like to wear my hair half up and leave out individual curls to frame my face.

- I advise against thinning because it will make your ends ratty. Your hair may seem worse at first, but it is just adjusting. This may take 2 to 4 weeks to begin working. I suggest doing a final cleanse with shampoo and stopping the use of any products with silicone in them before, if you decide to no-poo. Hope this helps!

How do you prepare a curly hairstyle at home?

Start with clean, mostly dry (but still just a little damp) hair. Then, it depends on the length of your hair and how tight you want the curls.

For shorter hair, take small sections at a time, twist them with your fingers, then curl them around on themselves and secure them with a bobby pin. Leave them in until your hair is dry. When you take them out, you'll get those baby-doll curls.

For longer hair and those loose tendrel curls that are very popular right now, brush all your hair together into a ponytail and twist it until it feel tight, then twist it around on itself and secure it with a clippy until and let it dry.

I have brown curly hair. When it's dry, it comes to about mid-back. I have an oval-shaped face, if that helps.

I'm tired of leaving it tied up in a ponytail or bun, and I need some new styles! How does this sound:

Parting it to the side, then putting 2 mini-clips on the side with the most hair to keep it out of my eyes. (I hate haircuts that cover one eye.)

If you already have long hair...try this....it's what I do every day.

After you wash you hair..put some mousse in it while it's still wet...hang your head upside down for volume while blow drying...and squeeze scrunch your hair while you're blow drying it.

If it comes out too poofy or curly at the end...spray a little more water on it and run your fingers through it to bring it down a little.

Use Pantene Pro V Curl Enhancing Mousse. It will enhance your curls, eliminate frizz, and make your hair shiny. It does not make the hair ';crunchy'; and hard. It works, and it will def. make your hair look like the picture!

I would wash it and condition, and towel dry. Rub a small amount of anti-frizz product through damp hair. (I recommend L'Oreal Smooth n Shine in the small orange bottle) then scrunch handfulls of your hair in your hands and let it air dry. DON';T brush it out and try not to touch it and mess with it once it's set or while it's drying or you'll make frizz.

Ok, I have three inches longer than shoulder length hair. It's such a dark brown it looks almost black, and it's curly, but not kinky curls. They're kind of loose, spiralish curls.

I'm not tan, but I'm not pale either. I have chocolately brown eyes aannd.. I have a round/heart shaped face.

I'm really thinking of getting a new hairstyle. I'm not leaning towards changing anything color wise, but I will consider all suggestions. I want to possibly get a shorter afro type style. I don't mean like total sphereical afro, but like afroish.

Ok I have the same. My hair is almost a spiral curl though...I used to hate my hair so much but i learned that to get very good volume you should get almost a scene haircut...almost. and use conditioner and buy this hair product..sunsilk de-frizz. I use this and I never put mousse in anymore or any hairspray i take a shower and put the sunsilk in and then thats it...it gives your hair a very natural look. I hope i helped a little.

i want to get my hair done but i want a certain hairstyle and i dont know if my hair stylist will know what im talking about. i want one side of my hair braided going up with curly hair extensions added in to where the curly hair sits on the opposite side of my head. its more of a urban hairstyle but picture a biracial woman with really curly hair and one side of it is braided while the opposite is loose. the hair being around 14in long. i cant find a pic on the internet anywhere does anyone have a pic or know what im talking about? im gonna ask my hairstylist but i really would like a pic to show and example thanks.Braided and curly hairstyle?

when you straighten your hair with a straightener, its straight after that but after you wash your hair it goes back to how it was and its more damaged. the only way to safely straighten your hair w/o damaging it is by going to the salon to get it done permanently. but straight irons will actually damage your hair and someday make it really frizzy if you continue to use it like that.

If you ever decide to have it up, but it in pig tails that are up.

i do it all the time and i think its super cute. or just put your hair in a bunish thing and leave some curls down. also you can braid it, french braids are gorgeous. or like pigtail braids
use lots of hair accessories...different clips, jaw clips, barattes, headbands, pins.....there are plenty hairstyles you can come up with that would suit your hair...just have to be a little creative...

Straighten it? Or you can try parting it different. If it's parted down the middle then part it on one side.

Curly hairstyles?

i have extremely curly hair!! its layerd and like 2 centimeters above my shoulder, im getting sick of whereing it up all of the time, its not an afro, so dont say anything like that, it parts naturally down the middle, it's just a little to much volume.

so are there any cute hairstyles for it? and is there any way to make it less volumized?

I feel your pain. It's hard to find a style for curly hair, it's basically curly short or curly long. There are so many choices for people with straight hair.

This is what I'm planning on doing pretty soon. I'm going to get a bob and have it ';stacked'; in the back and longer on the sides.

New curly hairstyle please!?

I have a couple months before I go to college and i wanna have a different hairstyle. My hair is naturally curly, and I have my regular hair styling routine every morning. however i don't want to get my hair cut, because it takes forever to grow back, but i would like a total hair makeover without going permanently straight. So please help me out. I'm open to all options, and some pictures would definitely help. I'm ok with getting highlights and i'm not sure about bangs, but anything to have a new look. By the way i have a round face to help with hairstyle!

Ok you have about the same length of hair as I do, plus I also have curly hair. Personally I think you should stick the curly hair and I don't know how you keep the curl. But if you decide to keep it curly, you should add some highlights because it adds a nice volume to your hair with out the big frizzy look. And I know your iffy about bands, but I think you should get a side swing bang, because I think it looks cute. When curling your hair if you use a good gel and a diffuser it would look really good.
