Curly hairstyles/cuts?

I have brown curly hair and alot of it its also really frizzy and pooffy. I have an oval face and my hairs about shoulder length. I really like to wear my hair down but it seems like whenever I do it gets really poofy and doesnt look good. People make fun of me 4 having poofy hair. I need help!!Curly hairstyles/cuts?
I've been there. My hair used to be REALLY poofy too. (It's actually still rather voluminous now, but the curls are more defined.) I've been at the end of saddening comments too. Thankfully I finally figured out how to manage my curly hair! Read on:

TIPS:

*Don't shampoo every day.

*Comb conditioner through hair in the shower.

*Apply styling products to dripping wet hair. Scrunch or twirl hair to achieve desired shape.

*Use styling products suited for your hair type. Don鈥檛 know yours? http://www.naturallycurly.com/hair-types

*Avoid terrycloth towels on hair; use linen, paper towels, or t-shirts instead.

*Air dry or use a diffuser with your blowdryer.

*Don't touch (or brush!) your hair while it鈥檚 drying.

*Once completely dry scrunch out any crunchy texture.

For hair type specific products check out these forums:

There you can find others with the same hair type and try out some of their favorite products. I would recommend something, but I don鈥檛 know your hair type. :)

Lastly, it has made my hair so much better since I started the curly girl method! I used to almost never wear it down (it was a frizz/poof ball), but now I have pretty, shiny curls. ~:) It鈥檚 pretty radical鈥攏o sulfates (shampoo) or silicones鈥攂ut it鈥檚 so great for curly hair. HAIRCUT IDEAS:

Long layers work very well with curls. The layers will help with drying and untangling time, and the hair will also hang better. However, do not get short layers as they will stick up and look funny. Don't let them thin your hair with razors either or it will look ratty at the ends as they grow out. If you want to find a stylist who knows how to work with curly hair you can find ratings by region here: http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlsalons

P.S. I wasn't sure if you wanted like hairstyles you could do yourself. If you did just email me and I'll send the info. It's just styles I've found easier to do on curly hair.Curly hairstyles/cuts?
Do you wash your hair with shampoo quite frequently? If you do, that may be what is causing it to be frizzy and poofy because washing it lots tends to dry out your hair.

I have shoulder length curly hair as well and I have an oval shaped face too. I have a few layers in mine to make it less thick so it doesn't poof lots. So, I would suggest a few layers.

Also, I use lots of condtioner and then I spray my hair with a detangler when I get out of the shower. The more moisture the better.

What types of hair product do you use?

How do I add more comments rather than just adding more to this one?
You could try running a hot flat iron through your hair with a frizz serum just to relax it so that it's not so frizzy and poofy. Read this article for that:
