If you want to run out and pick something up locally, I recommend trying the following products:

- Drugstore: L'oreal out of bed weightless texturizer (black tub, use under gel), LA Looks or Herbal essences gels, Suave naturals or vo5 conditioners, L'oreal vive pro hydra gloss or nutri gloss for curly hair, red Cream of Nature shampoo

- Organic/specialty store (like whole foods): Giovanni Direct Leave in condish, G conditioners, G tea tree shampoo, Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose or White Camellia Conditioners, AO B-5 Design gel

- ULTA: Devacurl products, Biosilk rock hard gelee, MOP-c curl defining cream (They also carry drugstore products and giovanni.)

These are all good things I have used, but be sure to tinker around with amounts and how you use any products. For hair type specific products check out these forums:

There you can find others with the same hair type and try out some of their favorite products. However, the most popular ones are usually only available online.

Here are some basic tips for curly hair that you might find helpful:

*Try to find a stylist who knows how to work with curly hair. You can find reviews by region here: http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlsalons

*Don't shampoo every day.

*Comb conditioner through hair in the shower.

*Apply styling products to dripping wet hair. Scrunch or twirl hair to achieve desired shape.

*Use styling products suited for your hair type. Don鈥檛 know yours? http://www.naturallycurly.com/hair-types

*Avoid terrycloth towels on hair; use linen, paper towels, or t-shirts instead.

*Air dry or use a diffuser with your blowdryer.

*Don't touch (or brush!) your hair while it鈥檚 drying.

*Once completely dry scrunch out any crunchy texture.

Lastly, it has made my hair so much better since I started the curly girl method! I used to almost never wear it down (it was a frizz/poof ball), but now I have pretty, shiny curls. ~:) It鈥檚 pretty radical鈥攏o sulfates (shampoo) or silicones鈥攂ut it鈥檚 so great for curly hair. Just as long hair care is important, curly hair too requires much more attention as its prone to be dryness and being frizzy. Curly hair even tends to be more brittle than straight hair. Following here are few curly hair care tips that would help you in keeping your hair healthy and manageable.

Choose a proper haircut. Curly haircut techniques are very different from that of straight hair, and therefore you should consult a good salon for your curly haircut. An improper haircut can make your curly hair cut frizzier and more unmanageable.

Choose proper tools. Tools that you use for styling your curly hair, like combs, brushes, hair dryers should be properly chosen. If your hair is thick and has volume, use a wide toothed comb, so that it helps you to brush your hair with gentle strokes. The hair dryer that you use, should contain a diffuser. This would greatly help prevent frizz.

Choose hair products properly. Since curly hair tends to be dryer than straight hairs, it requires products that provide lots of moisture to your curly hair. Summer time sun and heat, chlorine present in salt water, etc can all strip of the natural moisture from your hair. Opt for moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, which are best-suited product for curly hair care. You can even opt for leave on conditioner for extra moisture. Some other products that can impart extra shine and body to your curly hair include, frizz control treatments, mousses, and hair gels.

Limit shampooing your hair to a maximum of not more than two times a week. Shampooing strips of the natural moisture from your hair leaving it more dry and hence result in frizz.

Avoid brushing your hair when wet, and alternatively let your hair aid dry well before you use it. Do not use a towel to dry your hair, instead simple blot your hair with the towel, if you need to quick dry your hair. All these will help you control your hair frizz to a great extent.

If you decide to straighten your hair with the help of a hair straighter or straightening iron etc, remember to supply your hair ample moisture before you proceed to do so. Doing so will prevent your hair from the damaging effects of extra heat and also prevent frizz.

Natural Curly Hair Care can be carried out at home making use of natural ingredients available. Some natural ingredients that can prove good to your curly hair include, coconut oil, jojoba oil and aloe vera.

Should you need to detangle your hair under the shower, moisten your hair and condition it well. After this detangle your hair using your fingers. Now comb with a wide toothed comb, starting from the end and going up to the root of the hair. Now rinse your hair with water, trying to retain half of the moisture on you hair. This process will prevent your hair from frizz at the time of detangling. However, if you try to untangle your hair while dry, you might cause it to frizz.

Avoid running your fingers unnecessarily through your hair or carelessly playing with it. Avoid touching it as much as possible. The more friction occurs, the more are the chances of tangle and frizz in your hair.

Here are some really cute pics of curly hair do's with modern twists:-

take hair from the front of each side of your head (not to much and if you have side bangs, grab hair from behind there) braid them and pin them to your head on the side with bobby pins, then take the rest of your hair and throw it up in a bun. its really simple and it gives you a cute natural look.

heres sort of what it would look like:

and for frizz, i'd suggest sunsilk anti frizz 24/7 cream.

it works good for me i have really frizzy hair too, just put it in when your hairs damp and when it dries it shouldn't be frizzy! (:

good luck!
take the middle of it back with bobby pins and kind of poof it. then take the sides back with bobby pins leaving half of your hair out. makes a cute messy/casual look.

I do it too much
