take a little tiny clip and grab two pieces for each side and pin them together in the back. you can use the little clips with the sparkles and whatnot.
you could use a hand band and tease the hair at the top so there is a ';poof'; infront of the headband. make sure the headband is a contrasting color from your hair.

I am originally a FL girl with curly hair. My method is wash with a good conditioning shampoo, condition in the shower and then leave in a good amount of conditioner in it to style. I would finger in some olive oil to control the frizz too. Blow dry at minimum with a good stiff scrunching spray. If you live in a less humid area, try to blow out with a large brush......don't use as much conditioner otherwise you will look like a straightened oilball. If you wear your hair curly, remember, moisture is the key...from the mid area down. That is what helps the curl fold over and look good. If you bleach your hair, don't hold back on the conditioning.
Also, finger roll your hair when it is slightly wet and leave to dry that way (Madonna thing).
Good Luck and let me know if it works!!!! (product is everything for curly hair) You can get economically good quality stuff at the regular store (conditioner, stiff spray).
how about this?
